August 21, 2026, 87, Goldsboro-Aubrey Clifton Smith, 87, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County on August 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Jake and Aileen Smith.
In addition to his parents, Aubrey was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Boyko and sister, Carolyn Carr.
Aubrey is survived by his sons, Michael Smith and David Smith; sister, Elizabeth S. Wingfield; brother, Tony Smith (Lou Ellen); and two grandchildren.
Aubrey retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital where he worked for many years as the housekeeping supervisor. Prior to his health declining, he attended Goldsboro Worship Center with his daughter.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Aubrey’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral home and Cremation Service.
