August 13, 2026, 85, Goldsboro – Elizabeth Ann Rockefeller, 85, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026. Born and raised in St. Johnsville, New York, Elizabeth later made her home in Goldsboro, where she built a life filled with family, love, and countless memories.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon J. Rockefeller; her daughter, Nancy L. Rockefeller; her parents, Harold Countryman Sr. and Doris P. Countryman, and her siblings, Harold Countryman and Margaret “Peggy” Countryman.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Countryman; her children, Andrew Scott Rockefeller (Marie), Tara M. Rockefeller, and Shelby D. Gordon (Jim); and her grandchildren, Camaron Herring (Jackie), Corey Rockefeller (Karen), Eric Sauls (Rebecca), Alisha Hinnant (Dylan), Elizabeth Boyette (Mike), and Kelsey Rockefeller (Parker).
Elizabeth was a proud great-grandmother to Brylor, Koltyn, and Dax Hinnant, and Savannah Sauls. Her great-grandchildren held an especially special place in her heart, and the time she spent with them was among her greatest joys.
Elizabeth enjoyed the simple things in life—reading, puzzles, knitting, and spending time with the people she loved. She had a particular fondness for turtles and, of course, was rarely too far from a Dr Pepper. Her beloved four-legged companion, Freckles, was a constant source of companionship and love.
Elizabeth will be remembered most for the love she had for her family, the memories she created with them, and the unique little things that made her who she was. She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply and carry her memory with them always.
At Elizabeth’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories of Elizabeth on Monday, August 17, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the family home.
