August 5, 2026, 78, Mt. Olive – Diana Rose Hare Buford, 78, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the home she shared with her husband in the Brock’s Chapel section near Mount Olive.
She had been employed at Guilford East at Kenansville in the laboratory. Diana worshipped the Lord at Warsaw Free Will Holiness Church.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, August 15, at Noon at Warsaw Free Will Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Albert Howard. Burial will take place at the Isaac James Frederick Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church on Saturday, and at other times at the Buford home.
Diana leaves behind her husband, Jesse B. Buford, Jr.; their children, William Joseph Cavenaugh and wife, Kristi, of Texas, Tammy Jeanette Frederick of Kenansville, Michael Frederick and wife, Tammie, of Kenansville, Sabrina Rose Jones and husband, Jamie, of Kenansville, Vangie Buford of Texas, Ed Buford of New Hampshire, Greg Coltren of Raleigh, Mandy Carraway and husband, Greg of Goldsboro, Melissa Frederick of Virginia, Oweida Frederick of Detroit, Vance Frederick of Warsaw, Ronald Frederick of Detroit, and Willie Lee Frederick of Warsaw; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. She is also survived by sisters, Gloria Southerland of Kenansville.and Judy Dixon.
Those who have preceded her in death include a daughter, Jennifer Newkirk; her parents, Willie James Hare and Mary Ruth Hare; sisters, Mary Whaley and Margaret Hare.; and step-children, Delmas Frederick, James Frederick, Alonzo Frederick, and Geneva Frederick.
Flowers are welcome to the service, and should be delivered to 180 Ike Frederick Lane, Kenansville, NC (home of Sabrina and Jamie Jones); however, those wishing to make a memorial gift are asked to consider her church, Warsaw Free Will Holiness.
