July 21, 2026, 83, Goldsboro – Laraine Dale Blow Daw, 83, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord while surrounded by the love of her family at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Born in Wayne County on May 23, 1943, Laraine was the daughter of the late John and Nellie Blow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jesse M. Daw; her son, Darrin Daw; and her sister, Margie Pender.
A woman of unwavering faith, Laraine was a devoted member of Pikeville P.F.W.B. Church. She lived her life as a reflection of Christ’s love, always placing the needs of others before her own. Whether delivering Meals on Wheels to members of her community or caring for the children entrusted to her at Apple Dumplin Day Care in Pikeville, Laraine’s gentle spirit, kind heart, and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Laraine worked for General Electric and later Firestone before joining Nahunta Pork Center, where many customers came to know and appreciate her friendly personality and genuine kindness. She later found great joy in caring for children, a role that perfectly reflected her nurturing heart.
Family was the greatest blessing of Laraine’s life. She and Jesse shared a beautiful marriage built on love, faith, and devotion. Following Laraine’s stroke, Jesse lovingly and tirelessly cared for her, faithfully honoring the vows they had made many years before. She was truly the love of his life, and he was hers. Together, they cherished every opportunity to spend time with their children, grandchildren, and growing family, creating memories that will forever be treasured.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at The Pikeville Church followed by a service to celebrate Laraine’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Mark Whitfield officiating. Interment will be in the Pikeville Cemetery.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted daughter, Sharon D. Martin and husband, Jeff; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Daw; sister, Janice Kellum and husband, Ward; grandchildren, Corey Martin and wife, Marie, Zachary Martin and wife, Katie, Morgen Daw and wife, Haley, and Raven Welch; and her six precious great-grandchildren, Avalee, Nolan, Charlee, Ethan, Oaklee, and Lilly.
Laraine will be remembered as a faithful Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and treasured friend whose life was marked by compassion, humility, and a servant’s heart. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she is now rejoicing in the eternal presence of her Savior.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate love and care shown to Laraine. They also wish to thank the nurses and staff on the third floor at Wayne UNC Health Care for their kindness and exceptional care during her final days.
