July 17, 2026, 88, Goldsboro – Lenora Benders, 88, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Lenora, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. She attended NC A&T at Greensboro and later spent more than 30 years with the United States Postal Service in Brooklyn, New York, where she built a distinguished career before returning to North Carolina.
Above all, Lenora found her greatest joy in her family. She was source of comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love, often putting the needs of others before her own. Her gentle spirit, wisdom, and generous heart created lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Lenora is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Benders; her children, Angel Benders,
Brandon Benders, Denise Champagne; and grandson, Daniel Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and lona Coley.
No funeral services will be held. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, support, and prayers shown during this difficult time.
