July 14, 2026, 81, Goldsboro – George W. Anderson, Jr., 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Nash General Hospital – UNC Health in Rocky Mount.
George was born in Wilson County on October 8, 1944, to the late Willard and Helen Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Mauldin Anderson.
George faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began his career with Hevi-Duty Electric in Goldsboro. He later worked with A.C. Monk Tobacco Company in Wilson, where he remained until his retirement.
George was a man of deep faith who devoted his life to serving the Lord and his church. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon. George later became a member of Pine Forest Methodist Church in Rosewood and was an active member of the Methodist Men.
George will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a faithful friend whose quiet strength, servant’s heart, and steadfast faith touched the lives of many.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Pine Forest Methodist Church, 867 Hwy. 581 South, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate George’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Christian Powell and Pastor Tim Seigh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Micheal Anderson and wife, Beverly; his daughter, Michelle Teague and husband, Kemp; his grandchildren, Katie Smith and husband, Ryan, Sarah Anderson, Mary Anderson, Grant Anderson, Bailey Teague, and Hayden Teague; his great-grandson, Nolan Ryan Smith; his brother, Bobby Anderson and wife, Pat; and his brother-in-law, Benny Best.
George’s family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown to them during this time as they celebrate a life well lived and a faith that has now become sight.
