July 11, 2026, 64, Goldsboro – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kenneth Earl Speight, who passed away at his home on July 11, 2026.
Earl was born in Wayne County on February 28th 1962. He was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple thing’s life had to offer. He loved spending time outdoors, whether he was hunting or running his beloved rabbit dogs. Those who knew him knew that the woods were where he felt most at peace. He appreciated solitude, valued his independence, and lived life on his own terms. Earl was known for being hardheaded at times, but those same qualities reflected his determination, strength, and unwavering spirit.
He was genuine, dependable, and never pretended to be anyone other than himself. He lived with conviction and remained true to who he was throughout his life.
Earl dedicated many years of his life working for Tri County, where he built a reputation for hard work and dependability. Along the way, he also built Ace Pressure Washing which he proudly operated until the day he passed away. Earl truly enjoyed pressure washing houses and took pride in making things clean, cared for, and looking their best.
Earl will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The memories made with him, whether in the woods, listening to the music of the dogs on a chase, or simply enjoying life’s quiet moments, will be treasured forever.
Earl is survived by his son, Ashley Speight and wife, Mason Speight; his cherished grandchildren, Layla Speight, Avery Speight, Beau Speight, Tripp Speight, Gentry Speight, and Austin Speight; his sister, Kaye Dawson and her husband, Tony Dawson; and his brother, Douglas Speight and his wife, Glenda Speight.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Speight; his mother, Jean Kennedy; and his best friend, Selby Brown.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
The family asks that those who wish to honor Earl’s memory do so by spending time outdoors, appreciating the peace and beauty of nature, or simply cherishing time with the people they love.
The family is in the care of Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
