July 11, 2026, 82, Goldsboro – Amanda ‘Mandy’ Pike Herring, 82, passed away on July 11, 2026, at Brookdale in Goldsboro. Mandy was born in Wayne County on September 30, 1943, to the late Amanda Lucille Pike.
Mandy was a member of Pikeville Baptist Church. She was passionate about her family, especially her children and her husband, David J. Herring, whom she lovingly cared for during his illness. She loved making flower arrangements and enjoyed arts and crafts. Mandy worked hard in everything she did and was an excellent cook. She truly enjoyed her beloved pet dogs, Princess and Savannah.
Mandy is survived by her son, Clifton R. Kirkland and wife, Jep; two stepdaughters, Renae Herring and Carla Hazelwander and husband, Duane; grandchildren, Alexxis Castrati and husband, Anthony, Britany Hazelwander, Zoie Herring, and Crystal Dawn Herring Tinnen and husband, Derrick; and great-grandchildren, Zakiyah Gomes, Khalid Gomes, and Kion Gomes.
Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, David J. Herring, and a son, Baby Boy Kirkland.
The family will celebrate Mrs. Herring’s life by receiving family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
