WAYNE COUNTY, NC – As the summer season winds down, two Wayne County organizations are joining forces to help local students head back to school with the supplies they need to succeed.
Communities Supporting Schools of Wayne County and the Partnership for Children of Wayne County are partnering to host the Pack It Forward School Supply Drive, a community-wide effort to collect essential school supplies for students and families across Wayne County.
The drive will take place August 10-12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 111 S. Center Street in Goldsboro.
Organizers say the initiative is about more than filling backpacks—it is about investing in the future of local children.
“For many children, a backpack filled with school supplies represents more than notebooks and pencils,” organizers said. “Every backpack, notebook, box of crayons, and pack of pencils donated is an investment in a child’s future.”
Community members are encouraged to donate new school supplies to help ease the financial burden many families face as the school year approaches. Donations will help ensure students begin the school year equipped and ready to learn.
Organizers emphasize that every contribution, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference.
“The best part of Pack It Forward is that every contribution, big or small, has the power to make a difference,” organizers said. “Whether you donate supplies, host a collection box, or simply help spread the word, you are helping local students start the school year with confidence.”
Those interested in participating can find a complete list of needed school supplies by visiting www.waynecss.org.
Organizers hope the community will once again rally together to support Wayne County students and help every child begin the new school year prepared for success.
