KINSTON, N.C. — A Goldsboro man wanted in connection with a previous breaking and entering investigation was arrested early Saturday after police found him asleep inside a vacant residence in Kinston.
According to the Kinston Police Department, officers with C-Squad responded to the 1200 block of Sycamore Road at approximately 1:58 a.m. on July 4 after receiving information that 18-year-old Derion Dupuy of Goldsboro had broken into a vacant home and was inside sleeping.
When officers arrived, they located Dupuy asleep inside the residence and took him into custody without incident.
Police said Dupuy was already wanted on active warrants related to a breaking and entering investigation stemming from an incident on June 30, 2026. In addition to serving those outstanding warrants, he was charged with an additional count of breaking and entering for the Sycamore Road incident.
Dupuy was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond.
