July 4, 2026, 80, Mount Olive – Peggy Tyndall Alexander passed away Saturday evening, July 4, 2026, at the age of 80.
Peggy, a native of the Pleasant Grove area near Mount Olive, had made her home in Palmyria, Virginia for many years. In recent months she relocated back to North Carolina to be near her sister and brother due to health issues.
Peggy attended B. F. Grady School and graduated in 1964 from East Duplin High School She had been employed as a public relations agent with Lake Monticello Homeowners Association in Virginia where she used her photography skills for the public good. She was also a talented artist and had painted many scenes and works of art which brought her awards, ribbons, and accolades.
Peggy’s life will be remembered on Wednesday, July 8, with funeral services at 3 p.m. at Snow Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church, the home church of she and her family. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark S. Hobbs. Committal rites with burial will be in the church cemetery. Immediately following the committal, friends may greet and fellowship with the family in the church. Preceded in death by her parents, William Claudell and Lettie McCullen Tyndall; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Kenneth Ray and Doloris Tyndall, and Henry Delano “Speck” Tyndall, she leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Tyndall Messick and Gene Messick of Kinston and Mount Olive; a brother and sister-in-law, William Earl and Joyce Outlaw Tyndall of Kinston; another sister-in-law, Rosemond Outlaw Tyndall, of Mount Olive; four nephews and a niece, Wyatt King, Barbara Tyndall, Greg Tyndall, Barry Tyndall, and Brian Tyndall, along with their families.
