WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Wayne County government has announced office and facility closures in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
County government offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, and will reopen on Monday, July 6, during regular business hours.
Several county facilities will also operate on modified schedules throughout the holiday weekend:
- Wayne County Public Library: All library branches will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4. Libraries will reopen on Monday, July 6.
- Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center: The senior center will be closed on Friday and Saturday and will resume normal operations on Monday.
- Wayne County Landfill and Convenience Centers: The landfill and all convenience centers will be closed Friday, July 3, and will reopen on Saturday, July 4, during regular business hours.
- Wayne County Animal Shelter: The shelter will be closed on Friday and Saturday and will reopen on Monday.
County officials encourage residents to plan ahead for any services they may need before the holiday closures take effect.
The schedule changes are part of Wayne County’s observance of Independence Day as residents prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
