MOUNT OLIVE, NC — The Town of Mount Olive has announced its holiday schedule for Independence Day, including office closures and temporary changes to trash, recycling and yard waste collection.
Town offices will be closed Monday, July 6, in observance of the July 4 holiday and will reopen Tuesday, July 7, at 8 a.m.
Household Garbage Collection
The town’s trash collection contractor will be closed Friday, July 3, resulting in the following schedule changes for the week of June 29 through July 3:
- Monday route: Regular schedule
- Tuesday route: Regular schedule
- Thursday route: Collected on Wednesday
- Friday route: Collected on Thursday
Recycling Center
The Mount Olive Recyclable Center will be closed Saturday, July 4, and will reopen Tuesday, July 7, at 8 a.m.
Yard Waste Collection
Residents should also note adjustments to yard waste collection for the week of July 6 through July 10:
- Monday route: Collected on Tuesday
- Tuesday route: Collected on Wednesday
- Thursday route: Regular schedule
- Friday route: Regular schedule
Town officials encourage residents to place carts and yard waste out according to the revised collection schedule to avoid missed pickups.
