June 15, 2026, 77, Goldsboro – Rebecca Ann Varner, 77, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026 at her home. Born in Harnett County on July 27, 1948, she was daughter to the late Willis Franklin Warren and Julia Viola Reaves Warren.
Rebecca was a loving and selfless woman whose greatest joy in life was caring for others. Her family was the center of her world, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved. Rebecca had a compassionate heart that extended beyond her family to every person and animal she encountered. No stray animal ever went hungry if she could help it, and no one in need was ever turned away from her table.
She had a passion for cooking and found happiness in preparing meals for those she loved. Her famous banana pudding became a treasured family favorite, bringing comfort and smiles to countless gatherings. Rebecca also found peace and joy in the outdoors, especially tending to her flowers and spending time in the beauty of nature.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit, nurturing heart, and unwavering kindness. Rebecca’s legacy of love, compassion, and care for both people and animals will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Rebecca is survived by her daughters, Amanda Varner and Valarie Varner; her grandchildren, Samantha Varner, Madison Baggley, Logan McAnallen and Parker McAnallen; and a special great-grandchild, Annabelle Honeycutt.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Varner and her brother, Joseph Franklin Warren.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Andy Stovall officiating.
