June 1, 2026, 96, Goldsboro – Margie O. Warwick of Goldsboro, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord on June 1, 2026.
She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
Margie married her beloved M.A. Warwick in 1974 and the two of them had a fairy tale marriage. They loved meals by candlelight, running their businesses, entertaining family and friends, and traveling.
Margie was a valued member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church of Goldsboro, NC, where she served as an ordained deacon, a Sunday School leader, and sang in the choir.
Margie opened and ran the Artesian Tea Room and Gift Shop for many years. Those warm crepes and a cup of tea were delightful. Later she created Lorine Classics and enjoyed the personal relationship she had with her clients. She was very active in the local chapter of the Goldsboro Woman’s Club.
Margie loved sewing and cross-stitching and won many awards for her artistry. She often made clothes for herself and her daughter. It was always a delight when she would win a ribbon at the North Carolina State Fair for her entries. She loved home design and generously helped family and friends with decorating. She loved entertaining and often hosted dinner parties. Everyone looked forward to her annual Christmas Party, both for the beauty of her Christmas decorations and for the food.
Margie had a passion for gardening and enjoyed her time in The Garden Club. She spent hours volunteering with the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge. She loved flower arranging and holding workshops to share her boundless knowledge.
Margie is survived by her son, Phil Holland; daughter, Barbara Wright; son-in-law, Allen Wright; granddaughter, Ragan Wright Rotkoff and Ken; grandson, Martin Cox and Susie; grandson, Ken Cox and Jane; and grandson, Heath Wright and Nicole. Her great grandchildren are Chase Rotkoff, Ben Cox, Nathan Cox, Ella Cox, Kaiya Wright, Cora Wright, and Charis Wright. Her great-great grandchildren are Margaret Cox and Winnie Cox.
In addition to her parents and brothers, she was preceded in death by her husband, M.A. Warwick; and her daughter, Jean Spivey.
As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, kindness, and energy that was the essence of her.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to plant a flower in her honor.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Madison Avenue Baptist Church Goldsboro.
