GOLDSBORO, NC – The Goldsboro Police Department is encouraging residents to share their feedback as the agency continues its pursuit of accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
As part of the CALEA Law Enforcement Accreditation process, the department has opened a public comment portal where community members can submit commendations or concerns regarding the department’s compliance with professional standards, community engagement, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.
The public comment portal is available online at http://cimrs2.calea.org/948.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, the accreditation process is designed to support continuous improvement within law enforcement agencies and promote professional excellence. Feedback received through the portal will be reviewed and considered in relation to the agency’s compliance with CALEA standards.
Department officials emphasized that CALEA is not an investigative body, and the portal should not be used to report crimes, submit complaints requiring investigation, or provide information intended for law enforcement action. While individuals who submit comments will receive an acknowledgment of their submission, no additional response will be provided.
Residents interested in learning more about CALEA standards can view standard titles on the CALEA website. Questions regarding the accreditation process may be directed to the Goldsboro Police Department’s Office of Accreditation at 919-580-4342.
The department said community participation is an important component of the accreditation process and provides valuable insight that helps strengthen public safety services and accountability.
