June 5, 2026,66, Goldsboro – Christopher Lynn Beamon, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County on April 10, 1960, he was the son of the late Leland C. Beamon and Hazel Gardner Beamon.
In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Barrow Beamon; and brother, Sherwood Beamon.
Lynn is survived by his children, Taylor Beamon and wife, Krista, Hillary Bean and husband, Matthew, and Jayna Scott. Lynn is also survived by a special feline friend, Punkin.
Few things brought Lynn more happiness than time spent at the coast. Emerald Isle, North Carolina held a special place in his heart, and he returned there as often as he could. The sound of the waves, the salt air, and the unhurried pace of beach life suited him perfectly. One of his greatest pleasures was cruising the shoreside streets in his golf cart — a simple joy that put a smile on his face every single time.
Lynn was a man who appreciated a good meal, and a perfectly cooked steak was his idea of a fine evening. He brought that same care and attention to his yard, where he could often be found tending to every corner with pride and dedication. His yard was a reflection of the man himself — well kept, cared for, and full of life.
A passionate sports fan through and through, Lynn rarely missed a game. Whether it was cheering on his favorite teams or simply enjoying the thrill of competition, sports were a constant in his life and a source of great joy. Many happy hours were spent in front of the television, completely in his element.
Perhaps what spoke most to the depth of Lynn’s character was his profound love for animals. He had a tender heart when it came to creatures great and small, and they seemed to sense the kindness in him. His compassion for animals was not something he spoke of often — it was simply something he lived, quietly and genuinely.
Lynn’s memory will live on in the laughter of those who knew him, in the beauty of the Carolina coastline he loved so dearly, and in every gentle soul who pauses to show kindness to an animal in need. He was one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.
A time of visitation and celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Wayne County Animal Shelter, 1601 Clingman Street Goldsboro, NC 27534 in memory of Lynn.
