May 31, 2026, 77, Seven Springs – Joyce Summerlin Williams Gautier, 77, resident of the Indian Springs community, Seven Springs, NC, passed away early Sunday morning, May 31, 2026, at her home.
Joyce had been employed by several area farmers tending to and harvesting their crops, but the majority of her work was with Marvin and Ruth Taylor at Taylor’s Nursery and Plant Farm, and also with their farming duties. She also had been employed in gathering eggs for poultry growers. Joyce had been a long-time resident of the Pleasant Grove community near Albertson before relocating to Indian Springs.
She is survived by her children, Bill Frank Williams and Lacy Jean Williams Gautier; a grandson, William Gautier; and a great-grandson, Pierre Gautier, all of the Indian Springs community; three step-children, David Gautier and wife, Velma, of Albertson, Linda Gautier Rodriguez and Ceresa Gautier Saylor; and a sister-in-law, Sue Summerlin of Cabin, NC.
Joyce was preceded in death by her second husband, Jasper “Coot” Gautier, Jr.; her first husband, William Francis “Buck” Williams; her parents, Roland and Sannie Lanier Summerlin; a brother, Joe Summerlin; a sister, Judy Summerlin Tanner; and a son-in-law, Leslie Howard “Bud” Gautier.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, at 6:00 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with visitation afterwards. Burial will be Wednesday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Walker Family Cemetery, Wallace-Walker Road, Albertson.
