May 28, 2026, 92, Goldsboro – Janet Geraldine Robinson, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County on January 18, 1934, she was daughter to the late Milford Hollowell and Ruth Mitchell Hollowell.
Geraldine’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She dearly loved her Lord and Savior and put Him first every day, rising early to read her Bible and pray. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in many capacities throughout the years. She was a devoted member of the church choir, taught Sunday school, and served as church secretary, always willing to lend her time and talents in service to others.
Outside of work and church, she and Roy loved to travel with their friends and she always brought back a bell as a keepsake from her trips. At home, she was happiest working in the yard or sitting with a book in her hand. An avid reader, Geraldine had stacks of books and enjoyed sharing and trading them with her girls.
Geraldine cherished opportunities to help others, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her beloved family. Whether on birthday shopping trips with her girls, or making memories with her precious grandchildren, she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Professionally, she served as a bookkeeper at Wayne Christian School, where she was respected for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic.
Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Roy, and their children: Stan, Alan (Melissa), Karen Carroll (Tim), Dean (Roxane), and Geri Easom (Marcus); eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her brothers, George Edward Hollowell and Tommy Hollowell; and sisters, Barbara Best and Jane Hollowell.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 1715 E. Royall Ave. in Goldsboro. A service to honor Geraldine’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Jason Stoeber officiating. Interment will conclude at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
