May 26, 2026, 68, Mount Olive – William Robert Wall, 68, passed away Tuesday evening at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Respess Wall; his daughter, Kelly Kornegay and her husband Terry of Faison; a son, Brad Cox of Florida; four sisters, Bobby Jean Dixon and her husband Jimmy of Mount Olive, Beleta Ann Whitman of Mount Olive, Penny Holmes and her husband Jimmie of Seven Springs, and Jenny Marie Daniels and her husband Chris, also of Seven Springs; grandchildren, Madison “Sissy” Leary, Colby Leary, Dakota Leary, and Jackson Faulk; and several nieces and nephews that he cherished. Robert is also survived by special friends, Gordon Bennette and Jerry Goodman, among several others. Robert also leaves behind his cherished dogs, Cooper and Cora.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Edgar Ralph Wall and Eva Novella Best Wall; and a brother, Ralph Junior Wall.
Funeral services will take place at Tyndall Funeral Home on Sunday, May 31 at two o’clock in the afternoon. Pastor Jeff Dail will officiate the service with visitation beginning at 1pm, until service time. Burial will follow the funeral at the Indian Springs Cemetery, located on the farm of Jimmie Holmes, Seven Springs.
Robert loved anything outdoors from fishing to metal detecting and the excitement it brought. He also loved tuning in to watch those Nascar races and TV’s the Moonshiners program. He was a mechanic by trade and could do almost anything with his hands, and was always willing to help his fellow neighbor with any task he could. The Wall family welcomes any flowers to be sent to the services.
