GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro Police Department announced the arrest of a Goldsboro man following an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children conducted in partnership with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to officials, members of the ICAC Task Force executed a search warrant on May 15 at a residence in the 200 block of Woodbine Road in Goldsboro as part of an ongoing investigation involving the exploitation of children.
During the search, investigators reportedly located and seized numerous files containing child sexual abuse material.
Authorities arrested Nicholas Gangemi, 39, without incident. He was transported to the Wayne County Detention Center, where he was issued a $125,000 secured bond by a magistrate.
Gangemi is charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation remains ongoing. Officials encourage anyone with information related to crimes involving the exploitation of children to contact the Goldsboro Police Department or the SBI.
