May 13, 2026, 70, Goldsboro – Dale Robert Turnage, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.
Dale was born in Wilson County on August 10, 1955, to Lucille Sauls Heath and the late Grover Turnage. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Turnage.
A hardworking and devoted family man, Dale spent his life providing for those he loved, working as a painter for many years. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—whether spending a day on the golf course, casting a line while fishing, or trying his luck with a few lottery scratch-offs. Above all else, Dale treasured time with his family, creating memories with those he loved most.
A service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Patetown Cemetery with Rev. Michael Sauls officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Kevin Capps, 103 Delbert Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
Dale leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Stephanie Capps and husband, Kevin; Bryan Turnage; and Emily Lee and husband, Justin; his beloved grandchildren, Taylor and husband, Tyler; Katie; Kendal; Mason; JL; and Rhett; his treasured great-grandchildren, Graham and Dayton; his mother, Lucille Sauls Heath; and his sister, Tracy Scott.
He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.
