GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a registered sex offender was arrested after allegedly being found on property that included child play areas, which he was prohibited from visiting.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit, probation and parole officers notified investigators that Daniel Scott McMillan, who is listed as a registered North Carolina sex offender and is placed on Satellite Based Monitoring, had been found on or about property containing areas designated for children.
Authorities said McMillan was aware he was prohibited from being at the location. Following the investigation, he was taken into custody without incident.
McMillan, 36, of Stevens Mill Road in Goldsboro, was charged with two counts of Felony Sex Offender/Child Premises Violation. He was placed in custody under no bond.
