April 15, 2026, 87, Goldsboro – Billy Ray Little, 87, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord early Wednesday morning. Born in Wayne County on September 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Jimmy Gaston Little and Gladys Inez Reeves Little.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wives, Lois Jones Little and Lula Belle Berry Little; his daughter, Debra Outlaw; his grandson, Johnny Sibbett; his step-son, Rodney Fitzgerald; his sisters, Peggy Newsome and Diane Syverson; and his brother, Jimmy Earl Little.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Navy and spent many years working in the trucking industry. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Known for his kind heart and willingness to help others, Billy built a life surrounded by many dear friends who cherished him.
He is survived by his children: sons, Darryl Little and wife, Melissa, and Jimmy Little and wife, Paula; and daughter, Dana Jara and husband, Marc. He is also survived by his sisters, Emily Davis and Sandra Barbour, and husband, Ricky.
Billy leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished grandchildren: Kayla Williams and husband, Ronnie; Reanna Heres and husband, Chris; Marissa Cobb and husband, James; Cortney Jones and husband, Eddie; Mackenzie Little; Connor Ennis; Tommy Ray Little; Emma Waggoner; and Rhiannon Coats. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Accolon, Jasmine, Gracie, Laken, Cameron, Cason, Drake, Christina, and Vivianna, along with several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, including a special niece, Lori Biggins and husband, Mike.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his daughter-in-law, Melissa, for the exceptional love and care she provided, especially in his final days.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Billy’s life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Todd Sutton officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Billy’s memory to Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 1080 Gurley Dairy Road, Pikeville, NC 27863.
