April 13, 2026, 96, Mount Olive – Iva Lois Piner Price, 96, of the Pricetown community of Mount Olive, passed into eternal life peacefully late Monday evening. Born in the Outlaws Bridge area, she married and established her family with Mr. Dortch Price, a marriage that would endure for 75 years. Together, they farmed and worked very hard for all that they had. Iva worked a majority of her career tending to and raising chickens. She also had been employed at Janmark in earlier years. Later in life she enjoyed her time with Pinewood Florist in Goldsboro, where she was able to put her talents to work. She loved flowers, from tending to them in her yard, which was immaculate, to the perfect place in an arrangement, she just knew just how to arrange. She was also a life-long member at Zion Methodist Church. Iva will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Iva is survived by her daughter and son in law, Glenda P. Davis and husband Billy of Pricetown; and her son and daughter in law, Daniel Glenn, “Danny” Price, Sr. and wife Gina also of Pricetown; her grandchildren, Daniel G. Price, Jr., and wife Meaghan, Daniel Needham Ray, and John Pryor Price; great-grandchildren, Ashley Ray, McKenzie Ray, Daniel Bennett Price, Hunter Owens, and Tori Cyr. Iva is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Iva Was preceded in death by her parents; Horace Glenn and Lucy Outlaw Piner; her husband, Daniel Dortch Price; siblings, Margarite Williams, Hilda Ann Edmundson, and Horace Glenn Piner, Jr.; and a grandson, Robert Ray, III.
A Graveside service will take place on Friday, April 17, at eleven o’clock in the morning at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate the service and the family will receive friends immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Methodist Church Building Fund.
