March 19, 2026, 91, Fremont – Audelia Gulley Blankenship, 91, of Fremont went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Helping Hands Assisted Living in Goldsboro.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church, 108 N. Vance Street in Fremont. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont where the family will greet friends at the cemetery.
Mrs. Blankenship was born in Wayne County on March 2, 1935 to the late Oscar and Ruby Roycroft Aycock. She attended Fremont Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Blankenship was an avid organ and piano player and also had a great love for animals.
She is survived by three nephews and their spouses, Lamar Aycock and wife, Terrye of Goldsboro, Julian Aycock and wife, Debbie of Fremont, David Aycock and wife, Kimberle’ of Fremont; three nieces, Arlene Riley and husband, Roy of Hendersonville, Nancy O’Hanlon of Virginia and Stephanie Reece and husband, Jimmy of Brevard, North Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Owen Blankenship; two brothers and their spouses, Dr. William Glenn Aycock and wife, Sue H. Aycock and Gerald Lamar Aycock Sr. and wife, Charlotte F. Aycock and one niece, Patricia Baker.
