March 6, 2026, 66, Goldsboro – Larry Donnell Williams, 66, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Larry was born on August 1, 1959, in Wayne County, North Carolina, to the late Horace Battle and Geraldine Williams.
Larry was a man who truly enjoyed working with his hands, especially when it came to fixing cars. Known for his mechanical skills and his willingness to lend a helping hand, he found great satisfaction in bringing engines back to life. Much of his time was spent at the auto parts stores he loved most—O’Reilly Auto Parts and AutoZone—places where he was more than just a customer. The friendships he formed there were genuine, and the care he shared with others was returned to him when managers from both stores came to visit him during his time in the hospital, a testament to the impression he left on those around him.
Larry will be remembered for his strength, his hardworking nature, and the love he had for his family and friends. He valued simple moments, good conversation, and the joy of being able to help someone in need.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Marcus Atkinson, Doneike Barnes, Tawanda Williams and LaShonda Williams. Larry was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings: Sharon Williams, Bernard Williams, Anthony Williams, Katherine Igbokwe, Ann Kornegay, Horace Battle, William Battle, Wanda Flow, Donna Flow, and Anthony Flow.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his children, Larry Donnell Williams II and Danell Hagans; and by his siblings, Tracey Flow, Michael Flow, and Darryl Washington.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Larry’s life was a reminder that kindness, loyalty, and the willingness to help others are the things that truly leave a lasting mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
