March 1, 2026, 88, Goldsboro – Daniel Woodard Jackson, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wayne County on June 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Major Daniel Jackson and Frances Outlaw Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Jackson.
Woodard was the founder of Jackson and Sons, a heating and air conditioning business he established in 1974, built on exceptional service, integrity, and unwavering dedication. He treated his employees as extended family, fostering a workplace rooted in respect, loyalty, and care. His commitment to excellence was evident not only in his business, but in every aspect of his life.
A faithful member of Seven Springs Church on the Hill, Woodard cherished his church family and his community. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he also had a passion for collecting and racing cars. One of his greatest joys was sharing these hobbies with his sons, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Woodard and his beloved wife, Judy, enjoyed traveling the world together, making lasting memories along the way. Yet, despite all his adventures, time spent at home with his family meant the most to him. Gathering around the table to enjoy Judy’s cooking brought him great happiness — especially when chocolate pie was on the menu.
Woodard will be remembered by many for the meticulous care he gave to everything he touched. His yard was always perfectly maintained, his cars immaculate, and his business run with precision. His high standards and pursuit of perfection were simply a reflection of the pride he took in his work, his home, and his life.
Above all, Woodard loved his family. Time spent with them was his greatest treasure.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Judy Price Jackson; his sons, Danny Jackson and wife Stephanie, David Jackson and wife Gail, and Craig Jackson and wife Jan; his grandchildren, Jennifer Bell and husband Colby, Jordan Kayes and husband Sean, Katherine Turner and husband Dustin, Joshua Jackson and fiancée Leah, Meagan Jones, Brandon Jones and wife Angie, Brittany Post and husband Nick, Sebastian Jackson and wife Brittany, Regan Jackson, and Maygan Jackson; and his great-grandchildren, Cora, Renna, Carmen, Jackson, Toby, Cason, and Grace.
He is also survived by his sisters, Bertha Jackson and Virginia Hardy and husband Frazier; his brother, Don Jackson and wife Lynne; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service for the immediate family and close friends will be held at Seven Springs Church on the Hill, with Rev. Phyllis Vail and Rev. Michael Sykes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
