GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert Thursday evening that resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man on firearm-related charges.
According to police, on Feb. 26, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Slocumb Street after receiving a ShotSpotter notification indicating possible gunfire in the area. An investigation was launched, and Xzavier Mickens was developed as a suspect.
Authorities secured a warrant charging Mickens with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. While executing a search warrant, members of the department’s Emergency Response Team and Criminal Investigations Division located and arrested Mickens without incident in the 1000 block of Day Circle.
Mickens was also charged with a parole violation. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he was held without bond.
