WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A 64-year-old Goldsboro man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into stolen jewelry reported in eastern Wayne County.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report on Nov. 4, 2025, regarding the larceny of jewelry from a residence in the eastern part of the county. During the investigation, a ring taken in the theft was traced to a Goldsboro business where it had been sold.
Detectives determined the ring had been sold to the business by Carmion Anthony Morese of South John Street in Goldsboro.
Following additional investigation, authorities obtained warrants charging Morese with one count of felony possession of stolen goods and one count of felony obtaining property by false pretense.
Morese was located and served with the warrants on Feb. 19, 2026. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $4,500 secured bond.
