WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The University of Mount Olive dominated the 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships, capturing both the women’s and men’s team titles at the JDL Fast Track in a historic two-day showing filled with record-breaking performances and major individual honors.
Women Claim Back-to-Back Championships
The Trojan women secured their second straight conference indoor title, racking up 230.5 points — 121 more than runner-up Converse — and scoring in 15 of 17 events. Mount Olive set six conference records and six meet records along the way.
Freshman Serenity Harvey was named Freshman of the Year after scoring 18 team points and breaking the conference and meet record in the 200 meters with a blazing 23.98-second finish.
Sophomore Janara Bryant earned Field Athlete of the Year honors for the second consecutive season, tallying 26 points across three events. She captured the triple jump title with a record-setting leap of 12.65 meters and added runner-up finishes in both the high jump and long jump.
Senior Haniyyah Johnson delivered one of the meet’s most dominant performances, contributing 34 points. She won conference titles in the 60-meter hurdles — setting a meet and conference record at 8.64 seconds — and the long jump, while also finishing runner-up in the shot put and third in the 60 meters.
Head coach Earl Graves was named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year for women’s indoor track & field for the fifth time in his career. He also earned Coach of the Year honors on the men’s side.
The Trojans controlled the field events, sweeping 30 of 39 possible points in the long jump and taking the top three podium spots in the triple jump. They also captured victories in the 4×400 relay, shot put, weight throw, and pentathlon.
Men Reclaim Championship Crown
The Mount Olive men totaled 132.5 points to reclaim the conference title after falling just three points short last season. The Trojans edged Converse by 8.5 points and finished well ahead of Belmont Abbey.
The 4×400 relay team of Travelius Leach, Jason Hart, Titus Tanui, and Henry Bullock shined with a first-place finish in 3:17.58.
In the field, Mount Olive powered its way to 86.5 points. Antoine King set a conference and meet record in the weight throw with a mark of 18.63 meters. Sigursteinn Asgeirsson won the shot put with a throw of 16.28 meters, while Ryan Wilson-McCoy captured the triple jump title with a leap of 14.93 meters.
The Trojans placed multiple athletes on the podium across high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and weight throw to seal the championship victory.
With record performances, major awards and two team trophies, Mount Olive’s indoor track & field program leaves Winston-Salem firmly atop Conference Carolinas.
