February 5, 2026, 77, Mount Olive – Mr. Milfred Bryant Daly, 77, affectionately known as Butch, was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 5, 2026, while under the compassionate care of Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A lifelong resident of Mount Olive and the Baker’s Chapel community, Butch was the son of the late Dennis Ferrell Daly, Sr. and Lavina Dail Daly. He was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Mount Olive Junior College.
Butch was employed with Belk-Tyler’s and retired after 25 years of faithful service. In later years, he and his wife, Lynn, owned and operated a poultry farm where they raised turkeys, a line of work he truly enjoyed, especially being able to do it with his family. Above all, Butch loved the Lord and faithfully worshiped alongside his family at The Bridge Church in Mount Olive.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Holly Daly of Mount Olive; his daughter and son-in-law, Brooks and Lee Swinson of Mount Olive; and his beloved grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Pop”: Christopher Daly and wife, Macayla, of Greenville, South Carolina; Carson Daly and fiancée, Lauren Walker, of Mount Olive; Cuyler Daly of Mount Olive; and Colt Garrett of Mount Olive. He is also survived by his cherished great-granddaughter, Camryn Daly; a sister-in-law, Karen Daly; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynn Grady Daly, and his brother, Dennis F. “D.F.” Daly, Jr.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Butch Daly will be held Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. His grandson, Christopher Daly, and Pastor Andrew Price will officiate.
A time of visitation will follow the service, and at other times at the Daly residence. Butch will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery in a private setting.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
