February 5, 2026, 91, Goldsboro – Helga Keller Sherman, 91, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Somerset Court. Helga was born on November 2, 1934 in Germany.
Helga was deeply devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them, especially through preparing and sharing meals. She had a lifelong love of cooking and took great pride in providing for those she loved. Helga also found joy in spending time outdoors, where she carefully tended to her flowers and garden. Known for her compassionate spirit, she had a genuine passion for helping others and consistently went out of her way to assist anyone in need.
Helga is survived by her sons, Russell Sherman and Thomas Sherman; her grandchildren, Joseph Sherman, Jennifer Sherman and Emily Weaver; and her great-grandchild, Bristol Weaver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sherman and her son, Joseph Sherman.
A graveside service to honor Helga’s life will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
