February 1, 2026, 88, Goldsboro – Mother Ora Mae Simmons Davis, 88, of Harris Street, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by the comfort of home and the love of her family.
She was born in Wayne County to the late Tony Lee and Emma Jones Simmons.
Mother Davis lived a life rooted in faith, strength, and quiet grace. She was known for her warm spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her gentle presence brought comfort, wisdom, and encouragement to family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Her life was a true testimony of perseverance and trust in God. She walked faithfully, leaving behind a legacy of love, humility, and service that will continue to inspire generations to come.
A Homegoing Celebration honoring her life will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 12:00 noon at St. Mark Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
