January 31, 2026, 96, Hudson – Jean Frazier Hinton, 96, of Hudson, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2026 at Shaire Nursing Center in Lenior, NC. She was born in Nash County on August 26, 1929 to the late Charlie Cooper Frazier and Lula Belle Parrish Frazier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clitus Leo Hinton and a daughter, Phyllis Hinton; sisters, Doris Fisher and Nan Moseley.
Jean was married to her husband, Clitus Leo Hinton for 50 years. She was dedicated to Missions and Mission work which she became associated with in 1950. She was in Missions Leadership for 22 years. Jean was a member of Princeton Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher. Through the years many International Missionaries have stayed at her home while visiting. She also worked with Weight Watchers for 35 years.
Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kelton Hinton and wife, Lauri of Princeton; daughters and son-in-law, Susan Denning and husband, Frank of Hudson and Janet Hopson of Sanford; grandchildren, Robbie Denning and wife, Miranda, Lisa Denning, Elizabeth Denning, Caleb Hinton and wife, Rachel, Zachary Hinton, Jonathan Hopson, and John Mark Hopson and great grandchildren, Peyton Denning, Mackenzie Denning and Malcolm Hinton.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Princeton Baptist Church at 2:00 pm in the afternoon with the Reverend Thomas Collings, Rev. Frank Denning and Rev. Kelton Hinton officiating.
The Committal will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 210 and 70 Hwy, Smithfield, NC 27577.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Princeton Baptist Church.
Although flowers are welcome, it was Jean’s wish that memorial contributions be made to Princeton Baptist Church, PO Box 215, Princeton, NC 27569.
