January 30, 2026, 65, Pikeville – Michael John Bradley, age 65, passed away on January 30, 2026, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Edward Bradley and Sherry Anderson Bradley, Michael made a lasting impact in his community.
Mike worked for many years and retired from AP Parts in Goldsboro. He enjoyed turning wrenches and working on cars, often sharing his skill and passion with friends and family; he became known as the community mechanic. Mike cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, grilling outdoors, fishing at the coast and had a deep love for camping which he shared with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Jones Bradley and children: Michael John Bradley Jr. and wife Ericca, Gregory Roy Bradley, Brittany Bradley Holder and husband Bucky, Steven Christian Kirkman, Cameron Spencer Kirkman, Amanda Horton Bruey and husband Teddy; Mike’s legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kyler Bradley, Hannah Culberth, Abigayle Bradley, Jade Roberts, Andre Roberts, Hayden Bradley, Bailey Holder, Caleb Bruey, Ashton Bruey; siblings, David Bradley, Tom O’Hara, Greg Bradley, Sherrie Anderson, Edward Bradley Jr. all of Florida and Janet Bosworth of Colorado; and his special family friends, Dave and Sue Wilson. Also surviving are his pups Roxy and Chloe.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening, February 4, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of Mike’s life will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Jim Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the family to help assist with funeral expenses.
Although Mike’s physical presence is no longer with us here, the family finds comfort knowing even in death Mike impacted many lives through his “gift of life” by being an organ donor.
