January 15, 2026, 79, Kenly – Lettie June Pierce, 79, peacefully passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on March 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Ann Byrum and Herman Bigsby Pierce. Lettie was 1 of 11 siblings. Ms. Lettie grew up on a farm with her family, and at a young age began to work on the farm. From then on, her flame of hard working began. During her lifetime Lettie had a multitude of jobs, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with friends and family. If you knew Lettie you knew she was a person that you could count on day or night rain or shine. Whether it was her trips to the beach, fishing, taking her grandkids to the store or those late nights with her girlfriends to the dance, Lettie was always available and would always say yes. If she wasn’t hitting the roads you could always find her outside somewhere. She would be doing her daily walks, picking up weeds or grabbing a pole to go fishing. If the weather was just right she was outside from sun-up to sun-down.
Ms. Lettie was blessed with one child, Angela, who then blessed her with 3 grandchildren followed by 9 great-grandchildren. By blood her grandchildren might not have been a ton, but by love, her fountain of grandchildren overflowed. Ms. Lettie always introduced herself to everyone as “Grandma”, and for everyone she was simply just that. She knew no stranger, because there after you became a part of her fountain.
Lettie is survived by her daughter, Angela Byrum Garcia (Guadalupe Garcia); grandchildren, Anna Maria Torres (Jesus Ramon Torres), Leticia Robles (Jose Manuel Villegas Arreola) ,and Julian Robles (Brenda Soberano Medina); and great-grandchildren, Mariah Ninel Torres, Joanna Perez, Landon Emmanuel Torres, Estrella Perez, Alyssa Elicet Villegas, Manuel Villegas Jr, Aaron Clyde Robles and Nevaeh Yamileth Torres; two sisters, Juanita Pierce Jones (Robert Edward Jones) Peggy Ann Williams and 3 very special individuals who saw her as their mom, Lavonne Smith, Lori Butler and Charles (Chucky) Pierce. Lettie is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her fountain of grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Henry Earl Pierce, Shelby Jean Pierce, Jessie Dalhart Pierce, Herman Franklin Pierce, Gene Autry Pierce, Roy Rogers Pierce, and William Pritchard Pierce; and great-grandson, Dominic Jesus Torres.
