DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters from four Duplin County departments responded early Sunday morning to a working structure fire in the 300 block of White Oak Church Road, between Calypso and North Duplin High School.
Duplin County emergency dispatchers received the call around 1:30 a.m., sending crews from Calypso, Faison, Oake Wolfe, and Mount Olive to the scene. The fire was reported as a four-alarm blaze involving a two-story home.
When fire engines arrived, flames were visible coming from second-story windows. Firefighters deployed multiple attack lines and made entry into the structure to bring the fire under control.
Officials said all occupants of the home were able to escape safely before crews arrived. Duplin County Medic 4 was on scene to assist during the operation, and the Duplin County Fire Marshal was dispatched to investigate.
Firefighters remained on the scene for more than three hours, ensuring the fire was fully extinguished and confirming that no injuries were reported.
