GOLDSBORO, NC — This week’s WGBR Pet of the Week powered by Jackson & Sons, is a dog who’s ready to steal hearts and go home today. Meet Cheri, a beautiful one-year-old pup currently waiting for her forever family at the Wayne County Animal Shelter.
Cheri is described by shelter staff as an absolute sweetheart. Calm, gentle, and affectionate, she’s the kind of dog who quickly makes you feel at ease. While she may get a little excited coming out of her kennel—something most dogs would—Cheri settles right down and shows off her loving personality. She enjoys giving kisses, walks well on a leash, and is happiest just being around people.
At just one year old, Cheri already has a lot going for her. She is spayed and can go home with an adopter the very same day. Her $65 adoption fee includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, and heartworm test—making adoption both simple and affordable.
Shelter staff say Cheri has been waiting a little too long for a home and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a truly good dog.
If you’re ready to meet a loyal, loving friend, Cheri is waiting for you at the Wayne County Animal Shelter in Goldsboro.
Sometimes, the perfect dog is already waiting—Cheri might just be the one. 🐾
