January 4, 2026, 6, Black Creek – Reverend Russell Todd, 64, of Black Creek, NC answered the Master’s Call Sunday morning, January 4, 2026 on his way to church from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Rev. Todd was a native of High Point, North Carolina and was the son of the late Hal Wendle Todd and Margaret Larrimore Todd. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Todd and a sister, Lisa Graham.
Growing up in the Church of God denomination, he was a faithful man of God having served in the ministry for 42 years. He ministered throughout Florida, South Carolina and finally back in North Carolina. Most recently, he served as Pastor of Oak Ridge Church of God of Prophecy in Goldsboro. Not only being a Pastor, but he also loved to play the piano and was a talented song writer and past DJ. He appeared on many southern gospel tv programs and in 2003 received the DJ of the year award at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. He was currently a member of Stantonsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved serving the Lord while being a DJ, musician, songwriter and Minister and will be forever remembered by the thousands of lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Janie Todd; his children, Jamie Todd and wife, Tiffany of Spartanburg, SC, Rusty Todd of Spartanburg, SC, Tony Sullivan and wife, Cierra of Goldsboro and Britney Howell and husband, Blake of Pikeville; the mother of his children, Sherry Todd of Greer, SC; seven grandchildren, Kirsten (Adrian), Ava, Luke, Leah, Ezran, Zyla and Grant; one great-granddaughter, Alana and his extended family.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Stantonsburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with a service to celebrate his life of the 42 years he ministered following at 2:30 p.m. at the church.
