January 1, 2026, 68, Goldsboro – Bolivia “Belva” Sullivan Ham departed this world early on the morning of January 1, 2026. After many years of bravely fighting cancer, she is now at rest. Born on February 11, 1957, Belva was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Sally and Alvin Sullivan.
Belva found joy in many simple and meaningful ways, from working in her yard to taking trips with her close group of girlfriends—memories and adventures that only they will ever fully know. Many may not have realized that Belva also had a hidden talent: she was an excellent mechanic. She spent countless hours alongside Cameron, changing motors and working on race cars and go-carts, something she truly enjoyed.
The greatest joy of Belva’s life was her family, especially her grandsons, Cody and Wyatt. With a mother’s unwavering love, she held on until Cody arrived home from Michigan in the early morning hours of January 1, 2026, so he could say goodbye.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Wayne Memorial Park.
Belva is survived by her daughter, Jeannette Ham Lonas and husband, Eric; her son, Cameron Ham; her grandsons, Cody Lonas and Wyatt Ham; and her great-granddaughter, Eden Lonas. She is also survived by her sisters, Hilda Bass and Becky Wagner; her beloved fur babies, Chief and Marty; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to 3HC and Duke Cancer Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Belva. May God bless each of you in a very special way.
