RALEIGH, NC — A Dudley man is celebrating a big win after taking a chance on a $5 scratch-off ticket and landing a $200,000 top prize.
Mark Hicks of Dudley won the first top prize in the new $5 MONOPOLY® scratch-off game. Hicks purchased the winning ticket at Best Quality, located on U.S. 117 South Alt in Dudley.
Hicks claimed his prize at North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters on Monday. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $143,501.
The $5 MONOPOLY® game launched in November and features five top prizes of $200,000. With Hicks’ win, four top prizes remain unclaimed.
