December 18, 2025, 90, Goldsboro – Evelyn Carter Crawford, 90, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. She was born January 19, 1935, in Turkey, NC to Arby and Betty Carter and was a long-time resident of Goldsboro, NC.
Evelyn was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. As a pastor’s daughter and later the wife of a pastor, she was an active member of several churches serving as Sunday school teacher, choir director, and in any other ministry where she was needed. She was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was known for being a gifted seamstress, wonderful cook, and spending time outside working in her beautiful flower garden. A survivor of breast cancer, she also spent many hours volunteering to the cause of finding a cure and supporting others who were facing the disease.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David Jesse Crawford, and her daughter, Donna Lynn Wilson. She was also preceded in death by all 11 of her brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Evelyn’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Providence Church Cemetery.
Evelyn is survived by daughter, Debra Beasley and husband Shayne of Raleigh; sons, Ronald Crawford and wife Bobbi Ann of Goldsboro and Barry Crawford and wife Jill of Cary; grandchildren, Caleb Crawford, Joshua Crawford (Lindsey), David Lynn Crawford (Kristi), Sarah Jarman (Alex), Andrea Saulsbury (Dustin), Daniel Beasley, Chelsea Beasley, Lee Holmes (Amber) and Kaitlyn Holmes; and great grandchildren, Gracie, Blake, Willow, Dawson, Bryant, Bentley, Wesley, Jules and Miles; great-great-grandchildren Hildie and Haisley.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
