December 15, 2025, 67, Smithfield — Karen Keen Casey, 67, of Smithfield passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on January 3, 1958 to the late Roy Thomas Keen and Rebecca Ann Whitley Keen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Casey and brothers-in-law, Eugene Casey and Gene Woodard.
Karen is survived by her son, Kyle Casey of Smithfield; daughter, Jessi Casey Kyle (John) of Lucama; sisters, Brenda Sasser (Steve), and Pam Keen; brother, Terry Keen (Kim Batten); sisters-in-law, Pam Johnson (Chuck) and Jennifer Casey; grandchildren, Kayden Kyle, Kensley “Sissy” Kyle and Kolby Kyle as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations with the Reverend Brian Beasley officiating. The burial will follow the service in the Casey Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton.
