GOLDSBORO, N.C. — As anticipation builds for the 2026 NC Freedom Fest on September 12, the creativity of Wayne County’s young artists is already taking center stage.
Artwork created by this year’s NC Freedom Fest Student Art Contest finalists is now on public display at the Arts Council of Wayne County, giving residents an opportunity to view the impressive talent of local students before the competition’s final judging.
The exhibit is open now and will remain on display through Saturday, Sept. 12, when the winning entries will be selected. Community members are encouraged to visit the gallery and support the students whose artwork reflects creativity, imagination and artistic skill.
The exhibit is located at the Arts Council of Wayne County, 139 W. Walnut St. in downtown Goldsboro. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays. For additional information, call 919-947-0009.

Organizers invite families, friends and community members to make a trip to the gallery in the coming weeks to celebrate the accomplishments of these talented young artists and cheer them on before the final judging during NC Freedom Fest on September 12.
