The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at WCPS Central Services, located at 2001 E. Royall Avenue in Goldsboro, where district leaders hope to recruit both certified and classified staff for the upcoming school year.
The district is seeking candidates for a wide range of positions, including:
- Teachers
- School counselors
- Bus drivers
- Cafeteria workers
- Maintenance staff
- Transportation personnel
- Instructional assistants
- Other non-certified roles
According to Brian Weeks, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, the event offers prospective employees an opportunity to learn more about working in the district.
“A career in education is within reach and we encourage qualified applicants to attend and meet with our team,” Weeks said. “Our Human Resources staff will be available to answer questions about specific positions, qualifications, salaries and benefits, and the application process.”
Wayne County Public Schools says it offers competitive salaries, annual pay increases for classified staff, state health benefits, and retirement benefits. The Wayne County Board of Education has also adopted a 30-step salary schedule for classified employees, allowing for annual salary growth.
