This week’s WGBR Pet of the Week powered by Jackson & Sons, features Betty — a lovable retriever mix hoping to find her perfect family.
Betty is a 6-year-old Golden/Doodle mix with a beautiful yellow and white coat and a gentle personality that has quickly made her a favorite among staff and volunteers. This large, friendly female is already spayed, fully vetted, and ready to go home with her new family.
Shelter staff describe Betty as “the sweetest girl,” noting her calm demeanor and affectionate nature. Whether it’s spending time with people, going for walks, or simply relaxing, Betty is the kind of dog who would make a wonderful companion in a variety of homes.
At six years old, Betty offers the benefits of an adult dog — she’s past the puppy stage but still has plenty of love and companionship to give. Staff says she would thrive in a home where she can receive attention, affection, and a comfortable place to call her own.
Adopting Betty not only gives her a second chance but also helps create space at the shelter for another animal in need.
Those interested in meeting Betty or learning more about adoption opportunities are encouraged to contact the local shelter and schedule a visit.
Betty is ready, waiting, and eager to find her fur-ever home.
