March 29, 2026, 93, Goldsboro – Classie Allen Scott, 93, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab. Born in Scotland Neck community of Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ann Worsley.
In addition to her mother, Classie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ames Scott and sisters, Lillie and Ethel.
Classie is survived by her son, Donald Ames Scott, Jr. (Donna); daughter, Laura Lynn Scott; grandchildren, Steven Scott Lopez, Sedonia Deanne Scott, and Kenneth Scott; great-grandchildren, Tatiana Lopez, Khloe Lopez, and Kai Scott; and nieces and nephew, Valerie, Vernessia, Sheila, LaTonya, and Tommy.
Classie was a dedicated and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, she always attended church. Most recently, she attended The Lord’s Table in Goldsboro until her health declined. Classie made certain that her children and grandchildren were raised in the church.
For many years, Classie and Donald lived on the west coast, stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in California. While there, she operated the South Mesa Daycare Center located on Camp Pendleton caring for many beloved children over the years. Classie and Donald loved camping trips at Del Mar Beach at Camp Pendleton, spending time with their family and friends. Each year, she traveled by bus from Oceanside, California to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to visit her mother until her mother passed at age 97. Classie only flew on an airplane twice…the second time to relocate to her home state of North Carolina from California.
In her younger years, Classie took countless trips with family and friends to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. No matter at home or traveling, she was an avid shopper and enjoyed browsing at stores. Later in life, enjoyed playing BINGO with her friends at the Peggy Seegars Senior Center.
With a larger-than-life personality and kind, gentle spirit, Classie made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was affectionately known by the staff and residents of Eagle’s Pointe Assisted Living and Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab as “Sassy Classie,” a name she lived up to.
Nothing made Classie happier than to be with her family, she loved them each in a unique way. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she relished in any chance to spoil them.
A service to celebrate Classie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Chaplain Captain David Schrader officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
