“A Glocal Experience Honoring Your World” will be held Thursday, April 23, from 6–8 p.m. in the Wayne Learning Center (the main building on campus with the flag poles in front). It is free and open to the public.
This “glocal” event aims to inspire participants to value international and community connections, solutions, and culture by highlighting the interconnection of global and local issues.
This year, 79 students in biology, intercultural communication, English, leadership development, and statistics classes will be involved in the showcase.
Presentation topics include “Hunger in Madagascar,” “Glocal Addiction: How Global Drug Problems Hit Home,” “Mental Health Awareness in the Philippines,” “Peace, Justice, and Data: Measuring the Strength of Institutions Around the World,” and “Roots of Recycling.”
All guests will receive a passport and earn stickers as they learn about the Sustainable Development Goals and the many global and local topics students have been investigating. Those who complete their passports will receive a souvenir prize.
