GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A woman reported missing for more than two years has been located and arrested following new developments in a 2019 case, according to the Goldsboro Police Department.
Authorities said the investigation dates back to March 10, 2019, when officers responded to 103 Hunters Place to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers discovered Natasha South-Boyle deceased inside the residence. The Goldsboro Police Department Investigations Division responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. Officials later determined, based on investigative findings and autopsy results, that no foul play was involved in South-Boyle’s death.
The following day, March 11, 2019, police arrested Lisa Michelle Boyle, the mother of Natasha South-Boyle, and charged her with felony concealment/failure to report a death. Boyle was released on bond on March 15, 2019, but later failed to appear in court on January 7, 2020.
On December 5, 2022, Boyle was reported missing by a family member. Investigators noted that the last known contact with her had occurred in January 2020, around the time she failed to appear in court.
New Developments
Last week, the Goldsboro Police Department Cold Case Unit developed new information regarding Boyle’s whereabouts. Through coordinated efforts with the Raleigh Police Department and the Thomasville Police Department, authorities located Boyle in Thomasville, North Carolina.
Boyle was taken into custody over the weekend on outstanding charges for failure to appear in court related to the 2019 concealment case, as well as a June 2019 hit-and-run property damage warrant.
She was transported to the Davidson County Detention Center, where she was placed under a $3,000 secured bond.
Officials say the case highlights the continued work of the department’s Cold Case Unit in locating individuals connected to unresolved investigations and outstanding warrants.
